The Town Hall and Markets
The Town Hall offers a number of venues suitable for events as diverse as: concerts; wedding receptions and formal dinners; craft fairs and coffee mornings; public meetings or small meetings.
Dogs are allowed in the Market Halls (on a lead) but are not allowed in any other part of the building without the express consent of the Town Council.
The town hall has excellent facilities with toilets and disabled facilities of a high standard .
On a Monday there is a street market held in Broad Street.
The indoor Market Halls are open Mondays to Saturdays from 9am to 4pm.
The indoor Market Village has books, gifts, toys, computer games, cafe and on some days flowers, plants, cheese, cakes and more. There are also free public toilets in the market halls.

A room for coffee mornings, craft fairs etc with space for approx 65 people. This has recently had a new kitchen. Charges for the kitchen and room together are £22 for a half day for charity uses and £50 plus vat per half day for commercial uses.
An excellent ballroom with kitchen and stage. Seating for approx 220.
Hire is £75 for charity uses per half day and £100 plus vat for commercial uses per half day. There is an extra charge of £15 per event which hosts a full dinner service (to cover electric used by the cooker).
The historic courtroom for hire at £40 plus vat per half day.
An excellent council chamber seating approx 27 people for hire at £40 plus vat per half day.
Judges Retiring Room
A room for small meetings of up to 10 people, hire rate is £16 plus vat per half day.
