Playgrounds and Scansis All Weather Pitch

The Playgrounds, Scansis Pitch and Skateboard Park are all owned and managed by the Town Council.  Click here for a map with these facilities marked on it.

Maes-Y-Dre Playground

Installed in May 2011, this state of the art facility by Playdale was paid for with a grant from the Burgess Land's Trust under 'objective two'.  The facility features separate areas for toddlers and another one for older children and teenagers.

Dol-Y-Felin Playground

This has been recently taken over from Powys County Council and now features a new swing.  Further improvements will follow in due course as funds allow.

Brookfield Road Playground

This facility is currently unavailable and is being redeveloped as part of the housing development taking place on the Burgess Lands.  One hundred thousand pounds has been set aside under a 106 agreement (a stipulation under the planning consent) to develop a high standard facility with separate areas for toddlers and another for older children and teenagers.  There is land allocation for a football pitch too.  Following consultation with the young people attending the nursery, infants and junior schools, the new equipment has been chosen and the planning application has been submitted.

Little Henfaes Playground

This small playground is located in the Housing Development known as Little Henfaes and can be accessed by road from the Mill Lane round-about via Greenfields.

Scansis All Weather Pitch

Located in Oldford Estate this all weather facility is open to all of the young people of Welshpool.

Country Park

It is the ambition of the Town Council to create a family park with a playground in Gungrog Ward as this area of Town has been historically poorly served with safe play facilities.  It is hoped that this will be completed within the next two years.

Skateboard Park

Located behind Open Door in Howells Drive on the site of the old swimming pool this is managed By Powys County Council on behalf of Welshpool Town Council.

Outer Park off Park Lane

The Town Council leases this area from Powis Estates so that it has public access as open space for walks, picnics etc.
